Room 5 was starting to do the Summer Learning Journey. Our first activity was about NZ. So we made a drawing and put three fun facts about NZ.

  1. Hello Hunter,

I'm Evelyn and I will be working with the Summer Learning Journey team for 2018-2019 to read and follow amazing blog posts like yours! I am so excited to read what pops into that wonderful brain of yours and hope you have fun on this journey!

Those are some interesting facts about New Zealand! I've lived here my whole life and had no idea about some of these facts so thank you for telling me more about our country, well done Hunter! Please remember to make sure you put the information into your own words next time. I had no idea that Gisborne is the first city in the world to see the sunrise! People there would probably have to get up nice and early then. Do you like waking up early? I like to sleep in and cuddle with my dog in the mornings. I live in Auckland and had no idea that the Sky Tower is the tallest freestanding structure in the Southern Hemisphere! I have been up the Sky Tower twice. I am not afraid of heights but it is quite scary up there, especially when there are glass panels on the ground in certain parts of the tower so you can look right down to the floor! Have you been to the Sky Tower in Auckland before? You can bungy jump off the side of it, would you be brave enough to do it? I know I wouldn't dare to!

It's great to see you using images to illustrate your blog posts. Every time that we use an image on our blog, it's really important that we tell our readers where we found it, and give credit to the owner of the picture. To properly credit a picture you will need to include a link to the site where you found the image. We have created a guide that you might find helpful. You can check it out here:

You will need to follow these instructions to earn full points for any Summer Learning Journey activity that has asked you to post an image.

    Keep up the good work,
    Evelyn :)

  2. Hello Hunter. I really liked your facts about NZ. I learned that Gisborne was the first city to see the sun. I really like your display. I am Sam from Sacred Heart School Reefton.
